Pilot
Project:
A local chapter will be initiated in the
greater Los Angeles area to improve access to health care. This process will
involve patient advocates, community health workers, case managers, social
workers, nurses and mental health councilors who will promote healthy behavior,
prevention of obesity and substance-abuse. Provide Public Health will connect
the undeserved population with service providers who are willing to offer
services free of charge to patients or at reduced rates. Provide Public Health
is seeking Partnerships and alliances with other non-profit organizations who
share our vision. Following success of this project we will initiate similar
projects within other regions of California State.
Global health in resource poor regions:
Globally in resource poor settings: A
multi sector approach will be used to help build and develop primary health care
system. We will partner with local community groups, public health organizations
and global health organizations to improve access to existing vaccines,
medicines, maternal and child health services, nutrition, safe water and
sanitation. Our effort will focus on capacity building through training of local
health professional and logistic support for primary health care infrastructure
development.
Rebuilding primary health-care in post-strife regions:
In post-strife regions, health care systems have
become disrupted or are almost non-existent, therefore collaboration shall be
instituted with international, national and local peace mission groups, as well
as other public health agencies active in the region. The process of rebuilding
primary health care may involve providing technical and logistic support or
training to local/indigenous providers. It is a daunting yet possible task. This
will be initiated by using mobile health units that are well equipped and have
health providers that cover the region on various days of the week.
